History at Sacred Heart

At Sacred Heart we believe that through History, pupils can develop a holistic understanding of the country they live in as well as the wider world. It promotes pupil’s ability to understand different perspectives and how different countries around the world have faced changes overtime. It provides our children with an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of cause and consequence, change and continuity by providing knowledge about the past and how the past has influenced how we live in society today. Without knowledge of history, it would be difficult to appreciate the value of changes that have occurred in the past and the factors that lead to those changes.
